Product
The MediaOne viewer is designed to deliver TV commercials and rich-media Flash advertisements to Australian Internet users. The viewer is a simple and effective product for publishers to gain valuable advertising revenue from their website.
platform nine delivers advertisements in the MediaOne format to specific programs across the syndicated network. A program may be a whole site (Cosmo) or a section of a site (Australian Women's Weekly Food). A super program is made up of many sites or site sections eg. Beauty Super Program contains Cosmo Beauty and Australian Women's Weekly Beauty.
The MediaOne viewer floats over the site page as a separate layer. When it is not playing it is not there — all website visitors will see is the small transparent MediaOne viewer tab on the edge of the page.
A publisher can choose where on the page to place the viewer — on the right or left hand sides, top or bottom of the page.
The MediaOne viewer is usually a maximum of 1MB. The pages of the website will always download completely before any scheduled MediaOne advertisement begins to load in the latent unused bandwidth.
Implementation
The key steps in our set up procedure are:
- Identify sections within the site
- platform nine provides a unique MediaOne code for publisher
- Publisher places MediaOne code on all pages of site
- platform nine checks that the code is working
- platform nine collects traffic data for three weeks
- platform nine provides a traffic report and program recommendation
- Program structure agreed
- platform nine recommends ratecard for program(s)
- Publisher sets advertiser exclusions
- Publisher revises/approves
- Program is available to advertisers
Reporting
An automated approval e-mail, with client and creative details, is sent to publishers prior to a campaign going live.
Publishers are given access to an online reporting tool enabling them to:
- View ratecards
- Preview client bookings
- Preview and approve creative
- View revenue updates
A monthly revenue report is sent to publishers.
